Teen drama may not be everyones cup of tea, but for those of us who can't help but enjoy the stuff, it doesn't come much better than the creek, in particular this season (3). The episodes aren't as cleverly crafted as season 1, but the storyline here tops all the other seasons (the pacey and joey 'friend'ship overarches most of the season, coming to a head in the final 6 episodes). For those who dismiss dawsons creek as schmaltzy american bs, well it can be, but no more so than the likes of er sometimes are - we're not talking a friends style i-love-you-guys-fest in this show. These teens see themselves as embittered and cynical and they talk like 20-something gen-xers, analysing everything they say and do, yet they're naive romantics underneath it all, which just makes the whole thing kind of sweet and familiar. If you like quality american drama, give this a go - you may find Dawson himself vile and annoying, but that didn't stop the rest of us enjoying 6 seasons of the show. A heads-up for fans: 40% of the music has once again been changed - this time including the theme song...
The four episodes on disc 6 are by far the best of the season. In all of them we see Joey, Pacey, Dawson, Jack and Jen make some major discoveries about themselves and love. I also found as a viewer these episodes the most emotionally charges of all I had ever seen in seasons 1,2 and 3. The acting has improved and it had been great to watch them grow as characters and as real people. This disc is the one for true romantics.
Although season 3 may get off to a bit of a slow start it is worth sticking with it to see the last four fantastic episodes.
This is my favourite series so far. The story of the growing love between Pacey and Joey is great and the actors play out the roles wonderfully. The last 5 or 6 episodes are the best of the whole series. Also the story between Jen and Henry is really intersting to watch.
If you are in the Pacey and Joey camp, and thought the first two series were good, then you'll love this one.
Loved the initial theme music and they changed it!Grrr....and I don't like the crazy new girl. But not enough to stop me giving this 5 stars!Love it love it love it!

In a television series there is always one season that stands out on its own as the highlight and the best and series 3 of Dawsons Creek is one of them.
Yes it does take itself very seriously but thats what made dawsons creek. The beautiful setting the non sensical words and phrases and the bed hopping was its charm and it simply had something that many other teen shows never did ( notably the dire OC ) and it really was a special show.
The cast are all fantastic but the highlight for me was Michelle Williams as Jen although Dawson Leery did border on extremely annoying now and again and the writing is outstanding.
Its one of those shows that you sit down with a cup of tea for 40 minutes and lose yourself.A true teen classic and a must for anyone with a sense of taste.
The best episodes are The Longest Day which cleverly plays out the same day 3 times in different ways to which the day could play out the very funny and tongue in cheek Escape From Which Island and the very beautiful episode Guess Whos Coming To Dinner and The Valentine Massacre.Even the music is stunning form acts like Pete Yorn, Jewel,Jill Sobule,Five For Fighting and Brenda Weiler.
Kerr Smith and Katie Holmes are also fantastic but the character Pacey i have never been able to stand.
A lovely box set and a lovely show which is definately worth a look or even you're money to but.A super special show.

EXCELLENT SERIES OF DAWSON'S CREEK SERIES 3 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED LOOKING FORWARD TO THE REST OF THE SEASON LIKE THE INTERACTION OF PACEY AND JOEY AND SEEING THEIR RELATIONSHIP GET CLOSER AND JOEY AND DAWSON DRIFTING APART. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE REST OF THE EPISODES. ESPECIALLY THE DAWSON FINDING OUT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PACEY AND JOEY I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO.
Always enjoy Dawsons Creek.... but the plots are complex, and the dialogue can be FAST... and I have enjoyed some scenes much more by slowing down the tempo by 10%... I seriously suggest you try this, if you can slow your DVD player a little.... you will actually follow some of the gabbling.... LOL !!!
I agree and would say the last few episodes are the best with my fav being Witch Island. Very Blair Witch but highly amusing!
such a good series. must see!
a must see if you have watched the 1st and 2nd season, 3rd season just as good i am now going on to the 4th season am now definately dawsons creek fan.
