The master of the flashy, trashy action picture — Britain's very own Tony Scott — sought to recapture the glories of Top Gun in this reunion with Tom Cruise, which resulted in Cruise's marital union with co-star Nicole Kidman. Motor sport movies have a lousy track record at the box office and this cliché-ridden stock car variation was a costly flop. Reworking many of the themes in Howard Hawks's The Crowd Roars, Robert Towne's script must have looked a sure-fire winner, and there's little wrong with Scott's zippy race sequences or Robert Duvall's performance as Cruise's manager. Worse films than this have been smashes, so give it a spin.

A true classic for boys of the 90`s

For any man who was a teenage boy in the 90`s then this is the film for you. If you like racing and fast cars, the story is ok and holds together but the true buzz of this film is the racing. Nicole kidman half naked also makes this worth watching. Ill be buying this one to keep. Easy watching entertainment

Tom Cruise, where it all began. Film that shot him and Nicole to fame. If you liked Top Gun then you will love this.

A good film with the development of a racing drivers career. A bit unbelivable that this guy can jump in a NASCAR and straight away be competing for wins. As if!!! worth watching for nicole kidman and some racing action

    Need For Speed

I remember watching this all those years ago when it first came out at the cinema.

    Awesome film, and awesome sound.

If you are into fast cars, and motor racing, this is the film for you.

Little note for those with surround sound:- GIVE THIS A GO. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND

    crash and burn

this might not be his best, but it's still very watchable as many tom cruise films tend to be. he just seems to have the knack of playing likeable characters and cole trickle is no exception. throw in the love interest and it all adds up to what you expect really, although watching this i thought it looks a little dated now. despite that though, still enjoyed watching this again.

    Days of Thunder

An enjoyable movie with good performances from Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Well worth renting to reminisce about the days when they were the perfect Hollywood couple!

    sub standard re-make of TopGun

An attempt to come up with the same impact that TopGun made using Tom Cruise. It's an easy to watch film, but I wasn't blown away. It will never have the cult status that TopGun enjoys.
