Interesting take on the usual 'haunted house' setting and a good slow building story with some truly scary moments along the way. Far superior to most of your low-budget (or big-budget!) horror of late and well worth checking out for the strong cast & directing.
The film starts life looking interesting, but quickly bogs itself down. About half way through, when things were looking obviously tedious, someone seems to have thought, 'I saw The Ring so let's use those effects', which doesn't work. The 'scary' effects don't work at all; they're obvious and predictable. Then this film rapidly becomes a 'running around in a cornfield until we all die' film, and even then, a very lame one. Those responsible for this mess should stack shelves or clean toilets for a living, not make films.
