Low budget horror that makes the most of its limitations; it delivers the requisite shocks with a black, comic touch.

You Have to watch this--READ ON

    I loved this film.

It's not tacky and yes the dialogue is hilarious and the whole film is shot tastfully.

I jumped 3x and I love horror and with films like 'Cabin fever' & 'Wrong turn' this is So much better and has exceeded my expectations.

I must admit I was halfway through watching this thinking'what is this' I was also scared it was going to be one of those stupid endings but you will be nicely suprised as it all fits together and ties everything together.

Well worth a watch its fun and not too gory but in parts is really scary and spooky.Trust me what have you got to LOSE!

    Excellent Little Thriller

This independent film shows spark with its excellent dialogue. If you have ever been a family going away together on a drive, you will be able to connect with this film. The plot is original and does give a nod to the Outer Limits and Twilight Zone television shows. There are some scary set pieces and the climax is well excuted and not a cop out. Highly recommended.

    Thoroughly enjoyed this

If you're into gore fests this one is not for you. An intelligent horror which lets what you don't see terrorise you more than what you do. Some funny dialogue, good acting and while it did go on a little too long, on the whole a good movie, well worth the cost of renting it. Recommended

    More 2 and a half

Strangely the synopsis at the start is pretty accurate.. a travelling family take a different route and find themselves upon a road to hell..

While this film has an interesting concept it is as many others have said just an over long episode of Twilight Zone. There are some disturbing ideas but all the 'horror' is off-screen and implied.

The story does a good job of making you wonder just what is going on and keeps you guessing but ultimately its just too long with some lousy dialogue, unbelievable characters and overall lacks the punch to make it a good film.

    Neat little film

This is well worth seeing. It had good reviews when it was shown in the cinemas.

Plays like an extended Twilight Zone, gore is not over the top but probably more than you would get on TV. Nice twist at the end although you will probably think you have seen that type of twist before.

Very well acted from the American cast. Interestingly enough the 2 directors are French and this is their first film! Not overlong, at little more than 75 minutes, I thought the 2 deleted scenes could have been left in but the directors explain in the extras why they took them out.

If you like this kind of dark, suspense film you will not be disappointed.

    Small-scale fare

A family drive into the Twilight Zone one dark night. Essentially that's it. This is a film that for all it's flaws and low budget obviously knows it's limitations, and uses such restrictions as a strength, much like Rod Serling's classic TV series used to do.

However anyone who's ever watched the series will be able to guess the twist within about five minutes. There are some nice jolts and a tense atmosphere, but there are also moments of high-tack that just plain irritate.

Compared to other modern American pulp horrors this is a million times better than 'Darkness Falls' (for me, the nadir), but not quite as stupidly enjoyable as 'Wrong Turn' (the average). This is probably worth a bit more than 2 stars (maybe 2 1/2) but not really 3. If you like horrors you'll probably watch it anyway.

Fantastic- genuinely creepy and suspenseful. Very clever and a good twist on the horror genre (although not totally original offers a fresh atmosphere I have been looking for for a long time now). Great shock moments and tense scenes, and of course moments of great humour, relatively little gore (in my opinion a positive) and knows where exactly to place these in the film for the desired effect. I'm never taking a shortcut through the woods again!

    No Entry!

This film is going to be a love hate affair, of this I am sure.

On the whole I found it a reasonable watch, but it is certainly a film that leans heavily on gradually building the tension. I didn’t mind this, but I know this approach is not everyone’s cup of tea.

There are scarier movies, and for sure you will see movies with more blood splashed about the place, so don’t come into this expecting to be hiding constantly behind your pillow, or squirming at the amount of blood being spilled.

In fact the film almost has a B-Movie feel to it, with somewhat ropey acting, and a general show of stupidness by the characters involved. Some of the scenes made no sense at all with quite bizarre scenes, and daft/ridiculous conversation between the characters. Not only that, I didn’t form any kind of feeling to any of the characters – If anything they were quite irritating.

Despite that, there are a couple of decent creepy scenes and a couple of bloody moments, even if one in particular is downright stupid - I won’t say what it is, because I don’t want to spoil the surprise.

My final recommendation is to give it a blast, but only if you don’t mind dodgy character building and mediocre thrills and spills.

    Wait a minute!

What is this movie about? I can only hazard a guess! It started out promising and then turned into some kind of 'loop the loop weird plotline'. Unfortunately the DVD (or my player) started playing up so I didn't get to see the last 10 minutes of this film(a blessing in disguise?) and therefore did not see why this family didn't seem able to make it to the in-laws in time for Xmas dinner. Somehow I don't think I will be having ANY sleepless nights over missing the end......
