Every bit as good as season 1
By a customer from Kent, England , 06 Jul 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
As with most fantasy/sci-fi/cult series Dead Like Me excels in the second season. It still has the comical moments, and the thought provoking story lines, but is not as depressing as season 1. By far one of the best programmes I've seen.- Was this review helpful to you?

(23)Hugely entertaining with both tears and laughter
By a customer , 04 Jun 2011If you haven't heard of this series or you have and not thought it worth watching please give it a try. It is superb entertainment.
A series based on the exploits of a group of 'Grim Reapers' may sound a little macabre, but in fact it isn't. The theme may be dark but there really is a lot of humour here mixed in with some very poignant moments. Some may consider parts creepy but it is never really scary.
Series 1 set the scene, introduced the characters and while developing them all largely concentrated on George and her 'reaps'. You even begin to try to anticipate how events will develop once 'the reap' is close.
Series 2 took George's story - including that of her family- forward as well as developing storylines for each of the other 'Reapers'.
I think Series 2 is even better than Series 1 and was really sad that there were only 2 series. But I heartily recommend these 26 episodes, Real gems.- Was this review helpful to you?

All things great seem to die.
By Nekitsune (7 reviews) from East Sussex , 11 Nov 2010You know it breaks my heart to see so many great shows cancelled before their time, Dead Like Me was growing and evolving all through season 1 and 2 but just like so many before it short sighted people cut it down before its time.
I loved the characters and storyline of this show, the organic development of the storyline demands that it be allowed to flourish and grow, such a shame that it was cancelled.
I highly recomend this title, there are so many great things in store for those who give it a chance to shine.
For those of you who are interested the director of the series was involved in the making of a movie to tie off the storyline, its called 'Dead Like Me: Life After Death'. Enjoy.- Was this review helpful to you?

A fine end to a mere two series.
By Ian M from London, UK , 30 Sep 2010I absolutely loved this series and the last. I was hooked in by the original conceit of four grim reapers making it day to day, with fairly ordinary lives. But aside from the supernatural elements, this is about the George finding a new disfunctional family of Reapers, and trying to stay connected to her old disfunctional family that have (almost) accepted her death.
It's funny, sweet, thoughtful, sometimes creepy, but never scary. It manages to deal with death without being overly mawkish or even religious. It doesn't even try to answer those questions.
Most of all I was sad it was only two series, but sometimes this is for the best. If you ever saw the follow up film, you'll realise why there wasn't a third series. The chemistry between the four leads is integral to this show.
So, enjoy the two series, I envy you. Let's hope more quirky little series work their way through to us in the future.- Was this review helpful to you?
