Another gore fest from Takashi Miike.

Ryuichi and his gang attempt to take over the drugs trade between Taiwan and Japan. In order to succeed they have to wipe out both the Yakuza and the Chinese smuggling gangs. Only tough cop Jojima can stop them.

The film opens to the accompaniment of a pounding heavy metal sound track and we are straight into the action, the bullets are flying, the blood is spurting and the pole dancer keeps on stripping. After an opening like that what, you ask, can Miike do for an encore. Well, more of the same and the body count rises like it is ?Hot Shots, Part Deux?.

The ending though is a real surprise. Some will say it?s amazing, some will say it?s stupid and some will say it?s amazingly stupid.

The film is probably best watched through a light to medium alcoholic haze.
