one of my all time top ten filmsBy albram (24 reviews) from Sussex , 23 Aug 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]This is Robin Williams' doing what he doesn't do often enough, a powerful straignt acting performance.
You really engage with and feel for the characters.
Well up to director Peter Weir's best, on a par with The Truman Show.

Dream a Dream in the old canal - Poetry!By No_Paradise (1 review) , 21 Jul 2011
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideThis movie shows an institution that are set on there rules and have a history of greatness - when a new teacher arrives on the scene this changes the lifes of one group of teens forever and ever.
They start the dead poet society - the new arrival teachs them to view life in a different way and express themselves via poetry.
Willams super performance keeps the plot going and storms of wit help keep the audience glued in, however a heartbreaking hook in the film makes the students think is it worth it breaking rules for what?
With a nice ending the students form a coup against the head teacher which highlights the influence that the new arrival had on the young men - with some young and great actors brings an element of humor that is enjoyable and pleasing to the eyes! A must watch
Dead Poets SocietyBy ian3 (538 reviews) from Salisbury , 16 Jul 2011Dead Poets Society
Any movie starring Robbie Williams is watchable, whether its comedy or drama and this one wont disappoint. Its good, story sound dull, but its Williams that keeps you watching. The remaining cast get a good shunt to start their careers as youll see some young stars here. A watchable and enjoyable movie .
Robin Williams tour de force!By Range37 (26 reviews) from Nottingham , 05 Jul 2011Excellent film about finding your identity and the constraints young people are put under or used to be put under. Robin Williams is brilliant as the non-conventional teacher whose methods go astray with devastating results.
