    Dead Silence (2007)

Well where to start with this one. A really top film firstly. I am really shocked that it is only rated a 15 however I thought it was an 18 and think it should be. It isn't overly gorey really but there is some and I tell you for someone who likes horror's and has watched an awful lot of horror I thought this one was quite scary. It depends what you look for in a horror and what scares you. For me I don't like cut em up and dice them or pickle them type films I dont like torture films but I do like general horror and I do like films of a supernatural theme, so this one appealed to me. The old woman in this film is well scary and it really does have you on the edge of your seat quite a lot, the action starts from more or less the very beginning of the film which is unusual, so your not watching and waiting through half the film before anything happens. I don't want to go into too much detail and spoil it for you, not that we are supposed to or allowed to anyway, but there is a part in the film when the old man who works in the funeral parlour is in the mortuary and goes into a cupboard/cellar and all I will say is 'OH MY GOD' it scared the crap out of me and I jumped a mile wooooahhhhh well creepy. I was sitting bolt upright and as far away from the screen as possible with a light on and the sound lowered a little and it still frightened the crap out of me(bearing in mind I was on my own and originally had the light off). This I feel is a really good scary film and if you like scary films this is a definate must see. There are plenty of scares, plenty of twists, plenty of 'on the edge of your seat' moments and it was an unusual and original film. One of the best horrors I have seen in a while and do not let the certificate 15 put you off because that to me does not do it justice. Trust me if you like to be on edge and have a lot of jumps you will like this, from the very start of the film right to the very end. I give it 10/10 I thought it was excellent.
