    2nd Opinion.

I decided I wanted to watch this again. I must confess to enjoying it a bit more second time around. It is very violent and bloody in parts, but it is nice to see Yuen Biao getting a lead role, and Brigitt Lin is always immensely watchable, even if she is a bit typecast in this one. One of the few Martial Arts films to feature exploding bodies in the finale.

    Fantasy - But Not Fantastic!

This early 90s sword fantasy martial arts film stars the criminally underrated Yuen Biao and the stunningly beautiful Brigitte Lin. The supernatural tinted story of a magical lyre (Chinese stringed instrument) being taken across the country by a top swordsman for hire is full of exciting and superbly choreographed fight sequences.

Presented in its original Cantonese with English subtitles, (No dubbed soundtrack on offer here), this is entertaining enough, but ultimately a bit of a let down. The whole thing looks good, but the sometimes heavy plot is a little lost in the fantasy elements.

A watchable film, and well worth seeing to catch the two leads at their best.
