Compelling French thriller
By Goldenboots (53 reviews) from East Grinstead, England , 11 Feb 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
A very very French thriller which concentrates more on people's reactions to each other than fast paced action.Story unravels slowly as a whodunit, with a great cocktail of interesting characters turning up to mistify you. As with so many French films, it is slow paced, but never less than compelling.- Was this review helpful to you?

(27)Bourgeois French Tosh
By Cato (705 reviews) from Lydbury North , 05 Nov 2012As soon as I saw her I knew we were in for that typical French film, you know, the one with the femme fatale who seduces the young man who calls at her house to teach her daughter to play music. It was so obvioius what was going to happen, and lo and behold they were at it before you could say Jacques Robinson. What is it about French films, society, culture and general perfection that's so different to life in other countries? Every time I get off the aeroplane at Charles de Gaulle it feels like I've landed on another planet. And how come the French produce more films than any other European country? Anyway, this film is unbelievable tosh with niceish music in a nice house, some killing for some reason, and ultimately a profoundly silly plot. Je ne sais quoi!- Was this review helpful to you?

Well the plants are ok
By Whipster (663 reviews) from Shropshire , 17 Dec 2009Not compelling, not intriguing, not stylish, totally implausible - I must have watched a different movie than the one alluded to by the critics and some other reviewers! The characters are one dimensional and the 'twist' as such is about as obvious as you can get. The narrative felt incredibly bland. After the glowing reviews I was very disappointed. An average 3 stars. French. Subtitled.- Was this review helpful to you?

Stylish French thriller
By a customer from Shropshire , 31 Jul 2009This is worth watching. Stylish, French, beautifully filmed, quick moving. The only drawback is that a couple of events in the chain are rather convenient and improbable, thus weakening the power of the overall story.- Was this review helpful to you?
