Eternally teasing and dripping with style, this is that rare blend of form and content that engages both the eye and the mind. Through elliptical editing and his arch manipulation of his characters, director Michel Deville quickly leaves us as baffled as his hero, a young guitar teacher played by Christophe Malavoy. Not only does he discover his affair with his pupil's mother (Nicole Garcia) is being filmed; he also learns he's being stalked by the gay assassin who's been hired to kill his employer (Michel Piccoli). The ambiguity and elegance may not be to all tastes, but the performances, especially Piccoli's, are universally excellent.

    Compelling French thriller

A very very French thriller which concentrates more on people's reactions to each other than fast paced action.Story unravels slowly as a whodunit, with a great cocktail of interesting characters turning up to mistify you. As with so many French films, it is slow paced, but never less than compelling.

This is a soft pron movie

A soft porn movie outdated with a token crime plot. Rent only if you are bored.
