This remake comes hot on the heels of the 2007 British version, with a very American makeover courtesy of Chris Rock and co.

Death for the remakeBy Fiona D from Scotland , 06 Jun 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]Please please please rent the original British version of this film. This version loses all the quirky eccentricities of the British that made the original such a good film. The slapstick over-the-top nature of this American remake spoils it all and makes it a film mainly about toilet humour.
Oh and it has Chris Rock pretty much playing himself for the 100th time.

Death at a funeralBy a customer from Northampton , 22 Dec 2010I just loved this - slapstick at a funeral - so funny and so brilliant. Loved the actors, Chris Rock was great. The twist at the end was an inspiration!
Mildly amusingBy jayjcleary (12 reviews) from Deal , 20 Dec 2010Not terrible but certainly not great. Made me laugh about twice and smile about five times (I wasn't actually counting). I like Chris Rock but he's at his best with wisecracks and this film didn't really give him the opportunity. He would've been better playing Martin Lawrence's character. It tries to be a gross-out movie but you can see most jokes coming a mile off and people taking drugs is only a bit funny at first but gets tiresome after an hour. You won't miss much by missing this.
Loved it!!By SuperSaint (346 reviews) from Market Harborough , 19 Dec 2010Thought it might be 'mildly' amusing. Instead there were plenty of lol moments. How can anyone criticise the 'toilet' moment?. Surely a classic and Danny Glover signed up for it!! Give it a go!!
outrageousBy a customer from Manchester , 10 Dec 2010If you like outrageous comedy, then this film is for you. I found it very funny.
Good bits/Bad bitsBy jeffsimply (3 reviews) from UK , 09 Dec 2010Average really.
Worth a watch in my opinion, Rock, Lawrence and Glover are all pretty funny indeed, but a lot of the others spoil it in parts I think.
If you like shameless comedy you will probably enjoy this. (Think Baseketball/Pootie Tang etc)
Worth a rent.
