Champa loves Shamu but he cannot forget Mala.Dr. Kishore (A. Kumar), an eye surgeon moved by the music Shamu sings on the street restores the heros eyesight. "Shamu then sees that Mala, to whom he has dedicated his life, is married to his benifactor, Dr. Kishore and he puts his eyes again. Dilip Kumars tragic performance clearly evokes the oedipus legend with blindness signifying an escape from the unbreakable present and mourning for a lost innocence.

Bit predictable
Have to be honest the film was a little pradictable (which is not always a bad thing) and the songs were a little flat.
