  • Entertaining but predictable and unoriginal

Deep Blue Sea is one of those movies that are great throughout the build up to the action, but then a bit predictable and unoriginal once it comes. I also think the story behind why the sharks are actually at the facility could have been better thought out. It's entertaining with some likeable characters, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.

  • Samuel L Jackson moment is the highlight

The only reason I watched this film in the first place is because I heard that Samuel L Jackson gets eaten by a shark. I have to say I find that scene hilarious. That aside I felt that the film lacked any real sense of direction. None of the actors seemed to have a real character to build a relation to; so viewers are left not caring when or who gets killed. I feel that the film was very much dragged and could have been completed just shy of an hour. The only unpredictable thing about the film is that for a change all the females die and the two men are the only survivors. Would watch again only to see Samuel getting eaten by the BIG fish again lol

It's really not a bad movie, even if it's just for the rather hilarious demise of Samuel L Jackson's character! The cast do their best with a pretty dull script and admittedly it's fairly predictable but as action movies go it is well worth a watch, just be aware that you will have your tongue firmly in your cheek for most of the movie
