When a ferry filled with crewmen from the USS Nimitz and their families is blown up in New Orleans, Federal Agent Doug Carlin (Washington) is brought in to help with the investigation. He becomes attached to an experimental FBI surveillance unit that uses spacefolding technology to look back a little over four days into the past. While tracking down the bomber Carlin gets an idea in his head: could they use the device to actually travel back in time and not only prevent the bombing but also the murder of a local woman whose truck was used in the atrocity?

Only joking... If you suspend a bit of reality here and get into the film (hey if it's not a documentary you do have to give a little imagination to all films !), then this is a cracking film. Ok it is a bit far fetched in reality - what travelling into the past or future films aren't, but for pure action, a good story line that will draw you in and some reasonable twists, this is well worth a watch. Put another way, if Denzel Washington picks up a script and says yes, you are surely going to have a film that is worth a watch anyway, aren't you ?
Yes its a little strange and some may not enjoy the 'beleiveableness' of it but if you just sit back and watch the film for what it is and allow it to take you on its journey you really cant fail to like it.
Denzel plays his part well but it does seem a typical role for him. I did not have any complaints about the other actors in this film either. The directing/producing was very good too and is a really well made film. Good visually and musically too.
It certainly has you on the edge of your seat and takes you through a rollercoatser of emotions.
Neither my husband or i had heard much about the film and my husband especially was not really looking forward to it. But even he really enjoyed this film, and its def going to make my top list of films i have seen recenlty and would not hesitate to watch it again.
Just give it a try and hopfully it wont dissapoint! a fab film - one to watch
"First-class genre fun" in Deja Vu Among the cinema releases in the US this weekend is Deja Vu, an action movie starring Denzel Washington and directed by Tony Scott. The movie, which sees Washington travel back in time to try and prevent a murder, has been labelled as "first-class genre fun" by Los Angeles Times' critic Kenneth Turan. Deja Vu sees Scott and Washington team up once again, as they previously worked together in 2004's crime thriller, Man on Fire. Tony Scott -... Read more
