Only joking... If you suspend a bit of reality here and get into the film (hey if it's not a documentary you do have to give a little imagination to all films !), then this is a cracking film. Ok it is a bit far fetched in reality - what travelling into the past or future films aren't, but for pure action, a good story line that will draw you in and some reasonable twists, this is well worth a watch. Put another way, if Denzel Washington picks up a script and says yes, you are surely going to have a film that is worth a watch anyway, aren't you ?
I've just watched Deja Vu and I thought it was STUNNINGLY AWFUL. I was laughing hysterically as the ABSURD storyline unravelled itself, it's absolutely pathetic !!!!! I've rated this film as 'painful' - my worst ever score for a dvd. I would say MISS IT but I actually found it amusing because it really was SO BAD !!!!!! Denzel Washington must be cringing when he look's back at this film, and it is just bizarre to think that the Director was satisfied with it !! It's TERRIBLE !!!!
We actually saw this in the cinema, when everything else we wanted to see was no longer showing but the guy in the box office recommended it so our expectations weren't high. It's basically a thriller with a time-travel element, but what makes it better than most is first the ever-excellent Denzel Washington and second the pacing and editing. If you think about it too much while you're watching it, you might find the basic notion preposterous - my advice is relax and sink into it and you may well find yourself completely gripped. What's also good is that the spy-satellite-technology aspect keys in to current worries/paranoia about a Big Brother state. There are some parallels with Minority Report but I thought this was better (partly helped by a lead man who can act...), but also the story makes more sense within the slightly bonkers parameters it sets out.
This a film is in two very distinct halves, during the first half I found the plot intriguing but also confusing and misleading, and I was very distracted by the sheer impossibilty of some of the ideas suggested....technology simply isn't that advanced and I doubt it ever will be! However, if you can get past that and get into the overall story then the film really comes into its own in the second half. It's a fairly long film but it is fast paced and entertaining all the way - no fillers, no padding. The direction and production is first class, this was a big budget movie and it shows - the special effects and sets are every inch perfect. The acting is sound too - Denzel Washington really excels in this sort of role...I'm sure he was actually some kind of law enforcement/investigative body in a past life, he plays them so well - utterly convincing throughout - if you've seen 'The Bone Collector' you'll know what I mean. I don't think this is one of those movies that anyone would ever call a favourite, it's just not that kind, but I would recommend it to anyone and everyone for a couple of hours of good quality sharp entertainment. Hope you all enjoy it.
I'd like to be able to use the time machine to get back the 128 minutes the film has shortned my life by, as the most enlightening aspect of this film was that even the highly regarded Washington can feature in a shockingly poor film.

Despite some far-out science this movie was really good. It had me on the edge of my seat in various places as it is very fast paced. The acting is good and the directing is superb. I give top marks to this very watchable film.
I'd been looking forward to this film for some time having missed it at the cinema. Finally got round to watching it and i must admit i was throughly disappointed.
It tried to come across as a high concept thriller with an element of Sci-Fi, but didn't really deliver on it's premise. Strictly paint by numbers would not recommend. Typical 'Hollywood' ending, shame, could have been so much better.
Paycheck was similar and slightly better (but not much - watch Primer for a proper intelligent, unique, twisting time traveling film).
Ive been reading some of the reviews of people saying this is a bad film, and after watching it, just makes me wonder why. This is not a bad film and it all adds up and makes sense.Predictable ,yes i will give it that , but that does by no means make it bad!! A special unit has discovered by accident a way to look 4 days into the past.Using this technology they try to capture the person behind the ferry bombing , which killed most ppl on board.A top ATF agent ( D Washington) is called in to help and along the way he falls in love with a deceased woman who is somehow connected to this tradegy, and makes some startling discoveries!! Willing to risk his own life, can he stop the bombing, can he save this woman he has fell for.
A surprisingly good movie, with an interesting plot. Most, if not all of Denzel's movies are just really good, but this one brings him back in top form. Not going to say what the film is about, because I do encourage you to see this movie...Yes! it's that good!
P.S. Look out for a very porky Val Kilmer (goodness what happened to him???!!) and Jim Caviezel was looking particularly sexy as the baddie.Nice!
I was not expecting to like this film but I did. It has it's fair share science bits, though it does not expect you understand them just accept them.
It was pacey, exciting and entertaining. A feel good action thriller is rare to find, so this was a great film to discover.
This is a pacy, watchable thriller with Denzel Washington and time travel. That stacks up the plus column for me - big fan of going back in time movies - so it would have to fail badly in some key element for me to not enjoy it. I'm surprised that I don't agree with the reviewers who say the film collapses in the final half hour because normally I'm hyper-critical. I suspect that the film does have its problems and I was enjoying it too much to notice. It looks good, it moves at a slick pace - no gaps for your attention to wander - and all the theory is explained so that you're not held up by irritating questions. Well, it worked for me. I'd recommend giving it a try.
