In a happy suburban neighbourhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbours, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) to prove to his Mum (Julie Andrews) that he is better than the other super-villains, especially the new kid on the block, Vector (Jason Segal). Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze guns and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. Funny, witty and clever.

This has to be one of the best children's films of the year. It's right up there with Toy Story in my book with top of the line 3DCG. My five year old daughter really got it and made me learn a heap of the lines so I could keep saying them over and over to her. It's very funny and warm with a sardonic humour that is brilliantly voiced. The cast of minions add an additional background of humour that runs even after the titles go up so don't leave the cinema.

'Are these beds made from bombs?'

'Yes, but they are very old and are not likely to explode. But don't toss and turn.'

I'm 17 and i thought this was hilarious xD. I didn't know what to think of it at first but the film kept me hooked the whole way through, a film the whole family can enjoy.

The beginning is alright I suppose but could have been something more, but the voices and flashbacks were brilliant, epic and amazing.

Hello, I'm Jack. I'm a reviewer at 10 yrs old, and I love this film. Gru is funny, the girls are great, and the minions are FREAKIN' Hilarious!!!! I would personally love it if you went to see this film. It is definitely worth 5 stars.

Not So Dispicible.

Heart warming, and cute. Wonderful film definitely for the whole family. I would certainly recommend this film to people of all ages.
