Funny, witty and clever.By MidnightMovie (76 reviews) from Kirkcaldy , 02 Dec 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]This has to be one of the best children's films of the year. It's right up there with Toy Story in my book with top of the line 3DCG. My five year old daughter really got it and made me learn a heap of the lines so I could keep saying them over and over to her. It's very funny and warm with a sardonic humour that is brilliantly voiced. The cast of minions add an additional background of humour that runs even after the titles go up so don't leave the cinema.
'Are these beds made from bombs?'
'Yes, but they are very old and are not likely to explode. But don't toss and turn.'

Excellent Family Film...By yanbart (135 reviews) , 07 Nov 2013Excellent family film. For me, this, Meet the Robinsons and Wreck it Ralph are 5 star kid / family films. Really good family fun and entertainment. Oops, must not forget Megamind!!
IMPRESSABLE ME!!By HonestKen (9 reviews) , 01 Nov 2013BRILLIANT! Exactly what it says on the tin...all round good fun for the family and loads of laughs. (I cant wait to see the second one)
Unimaginitive them.By Chris-one (3 reviews) , 11 Sep 2013Not as good as I was expecting. The main character was a little bit boring, the three girls very generic, the bad guy should have had more screen time, Russell brand is woefully miscast as Gru's sidekick/henchman/business partner (never figured that one out) and the world they all inhabit seemed to be empty of anything going on that wasn't relevant to the immediate story which made it feel rather too staged for me. There were a few laughs however, mostly provided by the minions but even then they weren't quite as good as they could have been. Also, expect to sit through a lot of intros before the film actually starts on bluray.... So many little stings and things to skip through!
I think you'll like itBy MattEmulsion (12 reviews) , 13 Aug 2013Brilliant !! That's all I can say about it . I rented this for my nephew who stayed with us for the weekend. I watched it with him and I found myself giggling as much as him. All he kept saying all weekend was 'oh poop ' ( watch this and you'll understand why ). Coming from a 4 year old was quite amusing . Very good family entertainment and very well made .
Very funny for all agesBy Chantal (1124 reviews) from London , 04 Aug 2013One of my colleague is a fan and ow I know why. Not only because of the minions but all the 'heroes' of this film. Of course the story is predictable but the humour is so good.
