(5)Soooooooooooo Dissapointing
By MiniG (64 reviews) from Erskine , 23 Nov 2009With me and my gf going to Australia next year I thought this would be the perfect little dvd to gain an insight into what the South has to offer, I couldn't have been more wrong.
The south-east part was presented by the most annoying little man & after 5 minutes I honestly wanted to turn it off just so I didnt have to listen to him anymore.
He tried to be funny but he should have left that up to ppl who HAVE a sense of humour.
The best bit of his journey was his discovery of Tim Tams, they look GREEEEEAT.
He spends about 5 minutes in each city and basically tells you NOTHING!!. Except maybe that for $2000 you can BUY a car that will break down instead of RENTING for a 10th of the price, ehhhh duh lol
For the South West we turned it off 10 mins in because they skipped right past the city we are going to so it really lost it's appeal. She had a sense of humour though, especially with the dog man.
I would avoid and just go for brochures from travel agents or brouwse the internet- Was this review helpful to you?

Exhausting!
By crispin40 (553 reviews) from Stirling, Scotland , 30 Jul 2007Enjoyed Ian Wright's cheeky, chirpy cockney take on events. Megan McCormick's commentary was more straightforward and perhaps not quite so much fun. The things Ian did were 'blockey' fun things and he obviously enjoyed every minute - with the exception of the Roo hunt . Megan did her best but couldn't really be compared to Ian! Both these films required their presenters to use a lot of energy. Ian showed us that the Outback can be a very strange and wonderful place and Megan seemed to do a lot of diving in coral reefs. Tho we could have done without the clips of Roo and Boar hunting, its good to see places that we armchair travellers will never visit.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent
By Paula Sayer from Norfolk , 12 Apr 2006Ian Wright actually LIVES the programme, not just presents it! Its almost like a 'sneak preview' into someones private backpacking adventure. The American presenter is OK, but you can't fail to be taken in by Ian's unusual 'cockney' presentation - the most unlikely travel presenter I've ever seen! Well shot, easy to watch, informative, great for anyone about to off to oz!- Was this review helpful to you?
