this series is superb. there are five episodes in this fifth series collection of the Detectives, which actually came about as a result of occasional short sketches appearing on Jasper Carrott's 'Canned Carrott' show.
The Detectives stars Jasper Carrott and Robert Powell, as the bumbling duo, consisting of Detective Constables Bob Louis and David Briggs, promoted well beyond their crime-fighting talents.
In the never-ending high-tech war against crime, they are the Scud missiles of the police arsenal: inefficient, unreliable and utterly aimless.
The episodes are: 'Special Branch', 'Cardiac Arrest', 'the Beast of Hackney Marshes', 'The Curse of the Commanches', 'Best Man', 'Mine's a Large One' and 'Go West Old Man'.
my son Joseph's favourite episode is 'The Beast of Hackney Marshes, ' where Briggs and Louis, are on the trail of a wild beast in the Marsh areas of Hackney, whilst at the same time practising for the police talent show, with there umbrella's. they tell the local reporter's covering the Hackney Marshes story, that the umbrella's are really weapons like stun guns.
this is a very funny series and well worth renting out.
brilliant. jasper carrot and the other one at their silliest. great after a few lagers
