Very much in the 40s-50s film noir tradition (stark lighting, ever-present stress, comic book dialogue in harsh accents) which happens to be a favoured genre of mine (although I am not sure why), this very short B-movie reminded me of Psycho - car journey into the desert, stolen money, shower-scene, etc - although it lacks the punch and Bernie Hermann's music. For those who find it a problem, it's worth bearing in mind that this is not a 'realist' film - it's a modern urban fable. Not bad of its type, and worth seeing at least once.
