I enjoyed this. The criticism of it not being the same as the American, 'Backwoods', films states something that only made me enjoy it more. The rural Wales setting gave it a closer to home feel and the fact that he was just a, 'normal', man (and not a mutant or inbred freak) made it play very realistically.

The acting was decent, the script felt real and the bad guy was believable and menacing. Maybe not as much gore as some people want, but not every film has to have that. Gore films exist, this doesn't claim to be one. Horror/Thriller and Gore are not synonymous.

The only thing that was slightly off putting was the shaky camera work, but, if you can ignore that, and maybe the last 5 or so minutes, I think you will enjoy this film.

Very good film edge of your seat stuff. Worth a watch. There's some good advice in this film that the Welsh Tourist Board won't give you. DON'T UP SET THE LOCALES !

I'm a big fan of the backwood psycho redneck genre. I thought this was one of the best (up there with Wrong Turn, Wolf Creek and Manhunt etc.) The bad guy scary drunk farmer was great! One of the best psycho characters, totally scary and believable (Reminded me a bit of Robert Shaw!). I didn't think it was slow, perfectly paced and the three characters were a good laugh (I remember lads holidays in cottages like that, it was all very realistic and well done!) The ending was a bit silly, but it didn't ruin it for me. Top film will deffo watch it again sometime.

Critic's review - Dark, menacing, and gripping from start to shocking finish - I think I must have watched a different movie. The chase scenes were unrealistic, the protagonist talked too much and didn't capitalise on that air time in my opinion. I think my problem was is that it just didn't grip me, didn't get me scared or on the edge of my seat. I think the director simply hadn't made it 'dark' enough for my tastes - but each to their own.

Predictable and disappointing! Well, my suggestion is look at the negative reviews before you watch this. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and now wish I hadn't. As for the ending? If you didn't see that coming like a big cliche train over the hill well........you're an idiot!!
