In this proficient, if unremarkable, variation on Rosemary's Baby, NYPD Blue star Kim Delaney plays a wealthy woman who meets the man of her dreams. In fact, she's so happy she initially fails to spot that he has 666 tattooed on his forehead. Delaney shrieks convincingly enough in all the right places, although Matthew Lillard, the bug-eyed star of Scream and Dead Man's Curve, steals the show. Bobby Roth's direction is competent, but he doesn't generate nearly enough frights.
This made for TV movie has almost exactly the same plot as Rosemarys Baby but without any of its spine chilling moments. It passes a few hours on and is by no means a awful film its just not wonderful. If you are into devil films or the occult you may want to try this but dont expect much in the way of spookiness or scariness.
This film does have one fine aspect and that is its continual musical sound-track. Take away that musical soundtrack (leave the dialogue and the visuals in place) and I would have to rate this film at something like minus-5. It's late-night US telemovie stuff, horror contemporized. There's some nice iconoclasm here and there.
