This DVD is an amazing archival piece of footage!

It takes place not at the Newport stage, but in a bar (real or staged I don't know) setting with people occasionally dancing in front of the performers-very tiny room. This gives the term 'intimate performance' a whole new meaning!

    And what a performance!

One after the other, heavy-duty, real-life legends!

The segment where Howlin' Wolf tells off the loud, drunk heckler is priceless!

    Get this at all costs!

Raw blues with some of the acoustic blues boys like Skip James and others. The highlights for me was Rev. Pearly Brown (blind) and the electric blues set from Howl'n Wolf. It definitely made it worth watching. Also web info provided on the album if you want to go into the history of the artists.

This DVD is a Treasure. It is worth watching for the Howling Wolf set alone, but the rest hold their own, and both entertain and enthral. The quality of the sound and the black & white footage is good.
