If your a Hammer fan?
By Mark Davies from Hereford,eNGLAND , 27 Jan 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
If your a Hammer fan,and personally I am,rent this prior to buying as older titles (this is from 1963)can be a bit
hit and miss in terms of quality/presentation/transfer.
This DVD is presented in its correct
aspect ratio 2.35:1 and the quality of the print is very acceptable.
Its purely innocent swashbuckling fayre
(The writer Jimmy Sangster referred to these kinds of movies as Tits and Swords)involving a lost ship from the Spanish Armada exploiting the inhabitants of a remote English coastal village.
Saturday morning cinema stuff with the
distinctive Hammer edge.- Was this review helpful to you?

By rendlesham (19 reviews) , 02 Apr 2012absolute rubbish...so brilliantly poor the film is catually a waste of electricity...if you were trapped on devils island with nothinmg but a 47 inch screen and this film, it would dissolve into the sand unwatched and forgotten for ever- Was this review helpful to you?

not a hammer horror film
By a customer from London,England , 18 Sep 2007As the title says and being a hammer film you might think that this is a horror film, but it isn't so.
Although it stars Christopher lee this is a story about the Spanish Armada and one of its boats stranded on the English Coast.
I suppose you could call it a Drama and it is well made.
It is directed by Don Sharp who directs this well and has a feel of hammer all about it.
Nice little film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Shipwrecked
By a customer from Wallasey. Wirral , 06 Feb 2005This film is a sample of the British B movies that were churned out in the 70s and
were probably described even then, as low Budget project, it is colour daubed over the
black and white version and the acting must be classed as amateurish and the story
could do justice to the village idiot in the village the action takes place I could
thoroughly recommend this a no go area- Was this review helpful to you?
