Too Graphic
By a customer from London , 13 Jun 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
From reviews I read from various sources suggest Dexter is very good. I found this very gory like a horror film i.e taking drills to someones head etc. Why can't he use a gun and make this like a vigilante instead of some sick twisted serial killer. Dexter is as bad as the guilty if not worse.- Was this review helpful to you?

(194)decent idea at the time, very slow moving by todays standards!!
By haylesbaylespigstales (130 reviews) from Fleetwood , 28 Apr 2013just ok, a little disappointed as I find it really slow.
Had I have seen this when it was first released the maybe I would think a little differently, there's so many other series out there that are more fast paced.
How come he doesn't get caught or no one notices that these peopleare disappearing, story has many holes in it - won't be watching any more of this!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Pretty Awful
By a customer , 04 Mar 2013I find the whole serie absolutely awful. How come that man is never found out and his victims' disappearance never noticed? badly written, badly acted, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone- Was this review helpful to you?

A must see series - Brief review
By VirulentAgent (2 reviews) , 15 Nov 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
-To even mention anything from Dexter would be a spoiler, this has none-
The first thing you need to know before you watch Dexter is that it's not a gore fest (bar one episode and a few flashbacks late in the season), but it is very adult dealing with murders and murdering. If you like to watch 'nice' films as my mom puts it, then this might not be for you.
This show is amazing though. It can take a while to sink in especially only starting with the first 3 episodes on disc 1. But soon, the series picks up and you have to know what happens next. You follow Dexter as he lives by his 'code' (we all know he kills criminals) and tries to blend in with society, while he tries to solve a series of grizzly murders and kill the serial killer. Along the way you learn more and more about Dexter, as he learns more about his past and what made him the man (or monster) he is today.
The story is amazing, and sets up the beginning of a must see show which has spanned over 8 seasons (currently 8 is due next year and is known to be the final one). It's not more of the same either, as the show evolves and so too does Dexter. But for now, I implore you to watch this series and learn about Miami's dark knight.
-FINAL NOTE: One episode is not enough to determine if you will like it or not. watch 4 or 5 and give the show a chance to develop-- Was this review helpful to you?
