From reviews I read from various sources suggest Dexter is very good. I found this very gory like a horror film i.e taking drills to someones head etc. Why can't he use a gun and make this like a vigilante instead of some sick twisted serial killer. Dexter is as bad as the guilty if not worse.
Dexter works for the police as forensic expert in blood working closely with a variety of characters in the department, including his sister. However in his spare time he uses his training to murder people he feels has escaped the law.
I found Dexter very engaging viewing with well drawn characters and an interestng premise. The comedy is very black and the underlying series story lines are compelling leaving one desperate to reach the series conclusion. I'm looking forward to series 2.
'Dexter' is an adaptation of Jeff Lindsay's books about a 'blood-splatter' expert with Miami Police Department's forensic division. Imagine 'CSI: Miami' crossed with 'The Silence of The Lambs' and throw in the humour of 'The Sopranos' and you're there. Dexter is one bad dude! He is a serial-killer who justifies what he does by only killing bad guys. He takes out the trash when the law fails and as viewers we delight in seeing the bad guys get their dues. Michael C Hall ('Six Feet Under') shines in the title role which is by far his best role to date. 'Dexter' comes as a breath of fresh air in the wake of so many similar, repetitive shows from across the pond.

It is unusual, thrilling, utterly bizarre yet compulsive viewing - excellent performances all round

Program appears to be a bit weak in the first few episodes, but after that it becomes one of the best drama thrillers ever!
This is too gratuitously graphic - is there any need to show torture and bits of rape videos? As somebody else commented, couldn't he be a vigilante without the lusting after blood? I'm disappointed, as it came highly recommended, but I couldn't watch, and really felt that this kind of programme glamourises violence and psychopathic behaviour. 'Oh, but it's all right, he's only doing the 'bad guys''?. Two wrongs don't make a right, or pleasurable viewing.
Yes it's an interesting idea as police genre's has been all but done in some capacity or other & Michael Hall continues on the good platform he developed with 6 feet under but........the show while hardly realistic descends rapidly into Scooby Doo like plotlines with characters to match.
It's hard to imagine how they could take this show into series 2 but they have!
Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!
Dexter is a blood spatter analyist and murderer by night. I wont go into too much detail but I can not express how much you have to watch this show!!
It's so addictive... I couldnt turn it off. With good twists and a great season finale Dexter will be your new favourite show!!
Michael.C.Hall is a hotty!! I cant wait for season 2 to be shown in the UK and Season 3 has also been confirmed. I never want it to end! It's a shame there's only 12 episode to this show.
Oh Dexter Dexter, I do love him so....We missed the very last episode on ITV earlier this year because we had a thunder storm and lost power!!!!!!!! How frustrating was that!! Anyway, thank goodness for my subscription with , then Amazon, whereby I was able to rent the disc, watched just the last episode and it was tremendous!
This is a very graphic and unpleasant show, why do we now see torture as entertainment, I dont mind a horror movie but this went a little beyond.
