Dig is bloody excellent! Raw, real, unreasonable, this is a great examination of people thrown together by music, sex, drugs and rock n roll. I loved it! Watched it twice. Fascinating. Will watch it again. Maybe the name The Brian Jones Massacre says it all – total destruction. The main man, Antoine Newcombe, is a true artist – genius, brilliant, clever, ground breaking, weird, difficult, volatile. And utterly destructive. Absolutely made to make music, he has a one way street approach to his outcome, his way. Or nothing at all. Wonderfully he is still making music today, something I was very happy to hear, because at points in the film, it felt like he would follow Curt Cobain. Antoine’s nemesis was (and maybe still is) Taylor Courtney of the Dandy Warhols. They toured, played and died together. Lived together, loved each other and hated each other. Antoine remains solid in his stance that music should not be about consumerism and Taylor has gained a good living through his signing of the band to a company who catapulted them to world fame. Who is right, Who is wrong, brilliantly it comes down to which music you genuinely love. By the way, have you read the Fountainhead by Ann Rand? (watch out for the part where she gets raped).

About the reviewer: Matrisse

I love Film almost more than I love Books. And music. Without these wonderful expressions of spirit, I could not survive. I thrive only in these areans apart from a bit of physics, which makes sense of my wonderful mind. Life.com is an interesting experience, I love and loathe it in the ying and yang division. I wish to be improved, through thought, creativity and experience, life is about growing and growing even more.
