It doesn't get much better

Diana Krall is so exceptional. This DVD was my first introduction to Diana Krall and I have now placed this on the top of my most favourite music list. She plays jazz piano with such style and artistry, and sings with such colour and warm seduction, that you just find yourself grinning from ear to ear. And the small jazz ensemble she plays with are masters. Watching them play together is such a joy, that just adds so much more than simply listening to the music. Approximately half of the songs are supported by superbly arranged orchestra as-well. The sound and image quality is quite exceptional too.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from London , 14 Dec 2008I have loved this lady's virtuoso performances, since I first heard her perform. I nearly allways buy studio recordings for the quality of sound. I don't usually like recordings of concerts, because the quality of the sound recording is generally not up to that of a studio sound recording. Well..! This DVD is mind blowing. The sound and video is par excellent. You will have to play it to realise how superb this recording really is. Just put it on your player and disolve into the magic that is Diana Krall. On a good sound system It is that good you can close your eyes and ...bang you are there, its like being present at the performance. 17 recordings and 3 bonus extras. This DVD is at the top of my play list. If you get this, it will be at the top of yours.- Was this review helpful to you?

How lucky I was to find this talented performer
By a customer from West Yorkshire, England , 12 Feb 2005My introduction to her brilliance was as a gift on a visit to Texas. All I can say is 'Live performances like this cannot be better'. Whether pure jazz, a slow ballad or an instrumental virtuoso piece this genius creates a performance that has to be put on to listen to, again and again. The lady is brilliant and her backing comes out of the top drawer. Jamie McCullum if you wish to progress learn from this lady.

Krall's piano ...
By Arriaga#1 from BRIXTON , 29 Jun 2004Krall's piano playing and her singing are wonderful. She puts emotion into every song and plays Jazz the way it should be played! I also want to comment on one gem of a number: Diana's encore, a piano/vocal solo of Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You." I've heard Diana Krall do this one several times, and, while nice, those renditions did not wow me. This one, though, is really special.Enjoy.- Was this review helpful to you?
