Frenetically unsubtle, and very bloody, action movie.
ONE OF BRUCE'S BEST PERFORMANCES AND PARTS EVER PLAYED, HE SHINES THROUGH AS THE TRUE DIE HARD HERO.FINE PERFORMANCE ON WHICH MANY OF HIS MODERN CASTING PARTS WERE FIRST GROUNDED. WORTH THE SEEING IF YOU LIKE HARD MAN HERO'S.
Affiliation with the original film saved this on its maiden release; almost two decades on, and there is absolutely no excuse for such courteous chivalry. If Die Hard is a brewery-fresh pint of ice cold Kronenberg; then Die Harder is a watered-down half of nappy-night Fosters. Entirely shorn of tension and character, this flick is, from the off, alarmingly reminiscent of a conservative 1970's network TV quickie. Packed with disastrous gags and a truly devastating lack of plot-driven action, this flick only ever manages to very briefly puncture the boredom of its audience rather than ever threaten to sate it. If I ever want to re-live two hours of Bruce Willis pausing dramatically in the middle of a stationary frame, in order to yield a piss-poor wisecrack, whilst Dennis Franz's preposterously oppositional police chief has a bitch in the background.... well, I'll just just look at the cover sleeve of this cockeyed pish, as it sits in my shiny R1 limited edition DVD trilogy boxset. But the little pendejo will never see the light of day again. Life is far too short for that.
This is still a good movie and follows in the footsteps of 1 closely, but it does have a more contrived 'lets get another Die Hard out and cash in on the sucess of DH1' feel about it.
The plot seems in a way similar but more thrown together, is less original and has more of an extended episode of the A-Team sort of atmosphere overall. Good, but Flat in comparison to DH1.
fantastic viewing when nothing else to watch, but seen it dozens of times, watched again then sent straight back

This is probably one of Bruce Willis' best characters that he has ever played. John Mclane seems to attract trouble wherever he goes. The amount of stress that his poor wife must go through is immense - in Die Hard she was held hostage in a tower block, in this one she is effectively held hostage on a plane as it can't land.
A great film classic, definitely one that should be in everybody's collection.

This is a lot better than the 1st & 3rd ones.
what more can one say a great story line, plenty of action from start to finish and a brilliant ending
Not the best of the trilogy, but definately worth seeing, if you liked the other three you will love this. A band of mercenaries seek to prevent all planes from landing at an american airport except one in which a high priority prisoner is being held. A typical lad action film with all the trimmings; and a small but nice plot twist halfway through.
One of my all time fravorite films. Action packed and funny from Start to Finish. A must for anyone who hasn't seen it.
if your into action movies this is a must plenty of edge of seat stuff
