I was a little disappointed with this latest offering from the Elf-man. Ok, give the man modest credit for still being able to knock out those tunes with the tiniest amount of difficulty, but maybe it's time he gave it up now? There's plenty of rainbows, dragons, castles as expected and I was looking forward to the reformation with his ex-Rainbow stalwart Jimmy Bain, but sadly most of this is very dated. The picture quality is surprisingly low for such a recent gig and the small amount of extras don't make up for it. At least I've saved myself a teeny bit of cash by not buying this one.
I love the band and all of the songs and for that the DVD was worth it for me. I have to say though, that the quality of footage leaves a lot to be desired. It's very grainy and jumpy and just not up to scratch - I'm glad I rented it instead of buying as I wouldn't have been happy otherwise.
