Phenomenal. The first of the Divas concerts, this one for met set the standard and has yet to be matched. Unlike Divas99, when they included singers who in no shape or manner could be classed as a Diva, 98 brought out the big guns of the industry. The only questionably one was Shania Twain, but she did well.

Aretha is undoubetedly the star of the show here, and she ensures we dont forget it. Mariah shows that time and oversinging has taken toll on her voice, but bravely goes ahead with her numbers. Estefan starts the party in true latino fashion, and the crowd love her 'megamix'.

The shining moment, however, is at the ehd when all the Divas take to the stage to sing Natural Woman. Almost all the ladies realise that there is no point in trying to grab the limelight, as Aretha is on stage. All except one. Celine: the canadian chanteuse is determined to show the audience she is just as good as Aretha. Aretha, quite noticeably, realises what Celine is trying to do and Belts like no one ever belted before. Wooping, wailing, hollering she wiped the floor dry with Celine, gives a smugly sly grin to the rest of the girls and the audience, then gives one last holler to round up the night. AWESOME!
