An intriguing account of the great jazz trumpeter's 1985 tour of Cuba, a country which had particular relevence to him since for 40 years he had been pioneering the use of Afro-Cuban rhythms within American music. Educational as well as entertaining, the affable bebopper is shown performing full-length versions of A Night in Tunisia and Manteca, cracking jokes, relating anecdotes and offering illuminating historical and musical analyses of Cuban rhythms. Even Fidel Castro was impressed.
