It's not Dr Who at its best
By a customer from peterborough , 25 Dec 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
The film is a remake of a William Hartnell story. The film is in colour with the Daleks firing fire extinguisher because it's less scary. The film is very, very silly but ok if you've not watched the tv series in any depth.- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)Not for me thanks
By STEVE38 (16 reviews) , 07 Feb 2012This film from 1966 sees peter cushing as the doctor. If iam honest i found this film a little dole i didnt think much of the cast or the acting. I dont feel peter cushing whos best known for his horror films is suited as the doctor. Big fans of doctor who may love this film i however did not- Was this review helpful to you?

Maybe Nostalgia Should Be Left Where It Belongs, In The Past !!!
By a customer , 10 Sep 2011I hadn't seen these old Doctor Who films for forty years or so and never realised that todays Doctor Who stories had improved so much, until I saw these old 1960's films.
The first Dalek film in this two part collection - Doctor Who And The Daleks - is very poor.
It's a bit like 'Crossroads' in space - all wobbly sets and bad acting - and Roy Castle is a complete buffoon in this one.
The second Dalek film in this two part collection, Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. is slightly better, but not much.
Maybe nostalgia should be left where it belongs, in the past !!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Dalekmania rules
By AlecSigil (11 reviews) from London , 30 Apr 2010Hard to know how to view these if your caught up in the canon and history of the program. Best viewed as an alternative take on the same material, like the animated lord of the rings or something. Both features (it may annoy hardcore hartnell fans to say) are far better than thier small screen predecessors, especially the dalek invasion of earth. It isn't just down to the bigger budget or the colour either, the stripped down length and superior acting make this stand out as being doctor who at the height of it's powers. Both films where critical and box office hits and deservedly so. Half of me wishes they'd made the transfer to the big screen again to relaunch the show to the silver screen instead of the new TV show, with Paul McGann as the doctor. But then what the hell would I watch on Saturday nights?- Was this review helpful to you?

Doctor Who And The Daleks / Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 A.D
By friedeggsarnie (3 reviews) from Maesteg , 01 Mar 2009Although these films are not as good as the TV series, they are still very enjoyable. One must remember that the William Hartnell stories that they are based upon were in black & white with quite shaky sets.
The fire extinguishers used for the Daleks' guns are just not as effective as the TV series.- Was this review helpful to you?
