So it was't the last shoot, (apart from the ending after they were told the bbc had got ride of who!),
This was last of an era!
And so is a must for a real who fan , just for the history of it, if not the story.
But you get the seventh doctor at his weirdest, Ace , the Master & big cats , now what more could you ask for,an underfunded who?
Let's be frank, this isn't a DVD that was greeted with great joy by any but the most die hard Who fan.
Sylvester McCoy was not a good doctor. While he pulled off the lighter moments with real panache, as I child I found he lacked dramatic edge, and in adulthood I feel the same. This is terrible millstone for the series to carry, along with the (as usual) poor special effects (that cats are just terrible) and diluted ideas (just watch the documentary).
Sorry to be so negative. The story is a cracker, tackling clever ideas in a sensible dramatic way... in a way it has more depth of narrative than the current series. Sophie Aldred's "Ace" matured into an excellent assistant... once she stopped blowing things up. And the extras are as ever excellent. The documentaries are some of the best, and the commentaries excellent... though it does all get too self congratulatory.
