Great fun.

Classic 1970s Doctor Who. All the regular cast are on top form and are clearly having a great time. The occult plot is fun and the stakes feel high (even if the ending is a bit of a cop out).
This is one story that anyone interested in Jon Pertwee's tenure as the Doctor should watch (along with 'Inferno' and 'The Green Death').- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Enjoyable blast from the past.
By CHRISTOBEN (107 reviews) from Loughborough , 25 May 2013I was a fan of Dr Who when I was a boy and remember this as being my favourite ever series - I enjoyed this blast from the past, but it wasn't the masterpiece I was expecting. The plot was really rather ridiculous, mixing the supernatural with science-fiction, but everybody took it all very seriously, especially Pertwee as the Doctor and although the special effects were a little lame by today's standards, it still looks fairly good considering it's age. I doubt whether the younger generation would appreciate it, but for older fans, it is an enjoyable trip down memory lane!- Was this review helpful to you?

Has its good points but...
By goslar (6 reviews) from Ash , 03 Jul 2012This story has some interesting and charming aspects, with glimpses of quirky English village life reminding a little of 'The Wicker Man'. The dastardly 'Master' is well played, as is the doctor, but everyone is let down a little by a below-par script that makes very little sense at all. In conclusion, not terrible but far from being good.- Was this review helpful to you?
