    Exterminate !

He comes from the planet Gallifrey, belonging to the race known as 'Time Lords'. He, a friendly, mysterious time-space travelling alien who calls himself 'the Doctor'. He journeys through time-space in a craft called the TARDIS (an acronym that stands for 'Time And Relative Dimension In Space'). In his TARDIS, the Doctor can travel anywhere - he can move through space, forward in time, backward in time, sideways and throughout our current time and in and out of parallel universes.

In his travels, the Doctor (David Tennant) and his travelling companion Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) have encountered many alien species - some friendly and some very, very nasty ones.

You are in for the trip of your lifetime.

    The Christmas Invasion:

Prime Minister Harriet Jones has just been informed that a British space probe, on its way to Mars for a Christmas Day landing, has gone missing. It has been kidnapped by a monstrous race known as the Sycorax, who are set on taking over the world.

    New Earth:

The Doctor and Rose are 'texted' by an old friend to come to New New York's local Hospital facility. The facility is coordinated by the Sisters of Plentitude who have demonstrated that they can cure any disease or virus know to the galaxy.

Beneath the facility, the time travellers encounter an old nemesis, Cassandra.

    The Doctor Is IN

Although missing for around 75% of the Christmas Invasion, Tennant slipped as comfortably into the TARDIS & Role Of The Doctor as he did into his ‘Geek Chique’ attire.

Eccleston made a massive contribution to the show with his role in the revamped series but he always knew he was leaving the fact it was commissioned for not 1 extra series but 2, shows how immense his performance was but for me Tennant can far surpass that in the minimum 2 series he has been snapped up for, the switch of emotions in his portrayal of The Doctor in The Christmas Invasion at one point is chilling and for me confirmed they'd picked the right man for the job of regeneration #10.

The series although in New Earth starts with a slightly slow and what some may consider a 'filler episode' (to possibly let fans know this the same man but its certainly not the same personality and the change’s shown in The Christmas Invasion are permanent ones) the series picks up immensely after the 1st episode (and I recommend you reserve Vol 2 now)

I truly hope this regeneration stays a great number of years, as Tennant is an Excellent Doctor.

Although comparing Eccleston and Tennant would be unfair at this point (different doctors, full series Vs just under half a series) I’m going to do it anyway- rating both out of 5:

Tennant: full marks, only horrendous writing and lack of great material could demote it

Ecclestone: 4.5/5 a great, great performance but he seemed too manic at times- Tennant's doctor is more commanding and doesn’t need to shout to assert his authority- I always felt Christopher Eccleston needed to

    New doctor, new start!

I am a complete Dr who fan and I realy recommend this highly. I must say David Tennant isn't quitethe person you expect after being a really great baddie, but you soon warm to him. Billie Piper is fab and the two make a PERFECT pair! Great scripts too!

    Enjoyable

I wasn't sure about Tennant to begin with but he dons the Doctor's shoes smoothly and without problem. Billie Piper is cute and sexy as always.

    Dr Who Rocks!!!!

    Ace!

However; My boyfriend who's French and thus does not have the same references only gave it a 3.

    We're still arguing about it!

So 5/5 for Dr Who Fans and 3/5 for the uninitiated.

    Excellent

I only started watching Doctor Who with the onset of the New Series starring Christopher Eccelston, and to my surprise really enjoyed it. I was rather disappointed when I heard he wasn't going to continue for the second season, and then horrified when I heard the pansy from Casanova was to step into his shoes!

Turns out that he is great after all. I actually think David Tennant is a better Doctor, and I hope he sticks around. Highly recommended!
