Basically it is the legendary story of D'Artagnan and the three musketeers, but because this is an animated version, it has a charm of its own and a certain nostalgic feeling. D'Artacan (or Dogtanian) lives many adventures with his partners and friends (the 3 muskehounds) and even finds the love of his life, Juliet. Dogtanian has also an original and humorous little friend: a very talkative and energetic anthropomorphic mouse that speaks with a strong Latin accent.

This is the third disc in the series. The previous two I found kept my attention very well, despite some dodgy animation and dialogue! When it reaches the third disc though, it seems to go downhill. Whilst silliness was a big part of the first two discs, it appears to have got out of hand here and begins to become tiresome... but then i am speaking from the point of view of a 26-year-old! I'm sure children would continue to be fully entertained.
I remember watching this series when it was first shown 20 ish years ago. It was My favorite then and continues to be a classic.
An animated tale based on the classic stories by Alexandre Dumas these tales tell of the heady days of France during the reign of Louis XIII. The twist here though is that the characters are Dogs and Cats.
My Kids were sat glued to this for hours.
The only slight problem is the quality. The publishers have converted the Video/Reel into digital, however there are some very short occasions that you can see where the tape/reel had been creased/chewed.
This happens very infrequently and for only a few seconds so does not detract from the viewing.

Well the memories sorta flooded back when watching the first disc.
The first two episodes set up the character of Dogtanian, however they do sem to drag on. This picks up about half way through the third episode, where our hero meets the Muskehounds.
The rest are thoroughly enjoyable, and action filled. The extras describe the characters and what sort of animal they are so i give it a rating of ****

Sadly it's just one of those things that happens. You get a childhood memory cartoon. Sit back and get ready to re-live only to find it has kinda lost it's magic, but it's not a problem, what can you excpect? it's still cool enough if you loved it as a child but you know what? it's a bit strange in some places!
very funny and good watch and enjoy
This brings back memories,
this as you`ve probably guessed is the the three musketeers all wrapped up for kids in an easy to follow storyline.
but remains true to the original in (most) ways....
very enjoyable
This is just how I remembered it when I was a kid. The feelings of nostalgia came flooding back. Found myself singing along to the theme tune. Definitely get it out for the kids.
