Ultra-derivative slashers such as this medical Halloween rip-off appeared to be the last gasps of old-school splatter, until the genre's recent resurgence with the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer franchises. From the “practical joke that goes wrong” to the final line-up of disembowelled victims in the sadistic surgeon's waiting room, there isn't one iota of originality on display in this comatose collection of “Dr Kill-Dare” cliché casualties.

Predictably grisly horror played for laughs.
