A major disappoinementBy RichC (5 reviews) from London , 14 Apr 2009
[Highly rated reviewer]Ok being a Dragonball fan myself I've been waiting for a live action movie for years, and now that it's finally here I wish they didn't bother, there are so many plot holes(the film is 70 minutes so it doesn't cover them or explain anything) has missing vital characters, the CGI energy attacks look more like a Gas rather than a solid (which they should be) the acting is below average all you have to do is watch the trailer to see this (See when Goku says 'Cool') the characters have no development through the entire film and are unbelievable, there are only 2 or 3 second moments that you could see in Dragonball but the rest of this film feels nothing like it.
Theres no reason HollyWood can make a sequel as this is so bad so will the rest. T'would have been better if it was just an animated movie, like the Anime.

Wrong in so many waysBy Ishil (2 reviews) from Hornchurch , 11 Dec 2009I don't know what the anime or manga are like, but it was a real mistake to make this live action. Many things jar, such as Caucasian characters with names like Goku and Bulma. The characters are less than ciphers and the acting is - what acting? Though to be fair, decent acting would be pointless in this when everything else is so bad. The plot is non-existent, going from CGI-laden uninteresting fight to fight in a search for an even more blatant McGuffin than usual. The film is a good bit less than 1½ hours in length – which is doubly strange when so little is actually explained, and the fights are so underwhelming. Just choose something else to watch.

Not At All BadBy a customer from Carrickfergus , 30 Nov 2009Would watch this again better than a lot Iv seen
A painful disappointmentBy a customer from Leeds , 24 Nov 2009The original Dragonball series was a delight to watch. The characters are lovable, the story is exellent and the cheesiness is intentional... this film, however, doesn't have the same charm. The plot seems to be put together from random bits of the Dragonball series and the characters have been changed to fit.
Overall, if it didn't have 'Dragonball' in the title then I wouldn't have watched it. Now that I have watched it I regret it, so I'm going to get my old episodes out and watch it the way it's meant to be.
[-] Dragonball Evolution [-]By TheInformer (5 reviews) from Preston , 17 Nov 2009Unfortunatly I'm struggling to find positives about this film.. There are some great scenes, but the scenes are short and the action sequences are even shorter.
It's such a shame because I was really looking forward to this movie however it has been rushed and therefore the overall film has suffered. Characters are lacking in development, you would expect to see struggling times when learning new skills.. It all seems a bit, Hey Presto!
My only hope is that if there is a sequel.. It has more time spent on it, and characters are developed more..
All i can say about this film in conclusion is .. the good points are very good.. There is just too little and too quick.
