If you like proper films yes. If you have no attention span...By Huntergatherer (2 reviews) from Southend on Sea , 21 Jan 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I'll keep this short.
I missed this at the cinema and am sick to my stomach that I did. possibly my favorite film of last year. Forget the reviews, just see the movie.
But to add a little more detail. There are a few heavy scenes, they are short and sweet and leave you gasping for breath. The plot is slow, heavy and addictive. The soundtrack is brilliant. It is directed by a european and......Ryan Gosling plays what could only be described and a crossbreed of zen master and Jedi.
This is a unique film in a time where most main stream stuff is done to death and pretty much mindless eye candy which leaves you feeling nothing.
Stop reading this review and rent the damm thing.
P. S Ryan Gosling is tomorrows De Niro. Just watch a few of his films and you will understand why.
If you are a genuine film lover you will love this, if your favourite film is either transformers 2 or pirates of the something something (I forget now), leave this off of your rental list.

A Little boringBy mick_swerve (1 review) , 09 Dec 2013This film is boring. Do not expect to be excited at any point whilst watching this film. I nearly fell asleep. Twice. On the plus side, as my girlfriend has just pointed out, there are some boobs in it.
Top Gear!By ASDFG (18 reviews) , 13 Nov 2013This is what you call a slow burner but worth the wait. Ryan Gosling is yet again on top form and the action scenes are novel. Has the feel of a Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) film. Some of the slow paced dialogue did not work but a minor flaw. Recommend watching it on a big screen with the volume turned up.
Good but not a classic...By yanbart (135 reviews) , 09 Nov 2013Think I enjoyed it? Was a long time ago. It is certainly not a classic as I remember 'classics'. Whoever compares Gosling to De Niro is off their heads though in my opinion...there is no comparison...

Worst film ever award 2011, at least it should have beenBy OneShot (7 reviews) from Aslockton , 16 Oct 2013This is without doubt one of the worst films I have ever watched. The acting is dire, the script is dreadful, the characters are as thin as cigarette paper, the story staggers on and on going nowhere fast and there is plenty of gratuitous violence. Awful awful do not watch this film. There are so many great films to watch, this should have been consigned to the cutting room floor. As they say you cant get back the time you waste watching this tripe.
