Tres Droles
By Hurdlemagurdle (79 reviews) from Scotland , 19 Apr 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
A surprisingly upbeat and feel good movie centering around Felix, a young, gay, HIV positive, French arab. He hitch-hikes across France to meet his father for the first time, and the film tells the story of the people he meets along the way. His meeting with 'the grandmother' is particularly good.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very clever
By Dacarius (11 reviews) , 03 Feb 2012I want to give this film a higher rating but there are a couple of problems with it.
Namely the off-on-a-tangent story strands that don't really link back to each other very well. At the same time, the mise en scene is realistic, but the stories and consequences don't make sense, so it causes a conflict to the viewer.
That aside, the acting is excellent and the characters are interesting and meaty. Felix plays with the viewer, at first seemingly a faithful partner, until he meets a man he does find attractive and then he let's loose. This causes the audience to question both their own judgement and also themselves which is very clever.
Definitely worth watching!- Was this review helpful to you?

A awesome adventure
By a customer from London , 18 Jan 2011This film is really good. yes, my word choice isn't creative but I would buy this! It's a awesome movie that touches on so many human subjects and he happens to be gay. it's just that. It's a very human film and definitely work watching. 4 star is more like it. I watched it twice by the way!- Was this review helpful to you?

Poor to say the least
By iproposterous (59 reviews) from Scotland, UK , 03 Dec 2010One consolation this movie has was that the video quality was very good but the storyline and acting was pretty ham, this, coupled with having to watch subtitles made the experience pretty dire...- Was this review helpful to you?

From Kenneth Felix
By a customer from London , 06 Aug 2010After spending a weekend in the filmic arms of Kenneth Anger Drole de Felix came as a calming antidote. Politically astute and engaging to watch it explores classic road movie territory, pitching Felix on his journey from A-B with a series of alternative family members.
The film was sadly soon over at 95 minutes, but I feel it is better to leave people wanting to see more. Felix controls how much of his life he reveals to those he meets on his travels, and the multilayered film treats the audience in a similar way, ensuring that it stays in the memory and that repeat viewings are desired.- Was this review helpful to you?
