Absolute classic
By Drew Bolton from eastbourne , 25 Jul 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Still can't be beaten, and hardly shows its age at all. Only the odd reference to John Major jars, and that's because the rest of the show is so slick it's easy to forget it's not a new production.
Better than series one, but well worth watching in order to see the characters develop. One of the best Brit comedies - well up there with Blackadder and Father Ted.- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)Just as good today
By MoragG (26 reviews) from Maidstone, UK , 06 Feb 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
I was grateful for the (limited) reminders of items in the news which were reflected in the episodes, so that I didn't end up puzzling over them. But this series is even better than the first, because it introduces the wonderful Joy.
I enjoyed the special features almost as much as the programmes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Still raised a laugh
By Airidh from na h-Eileanan an Iar , 30 May 2006This is a TV series that was first shown in the 80s or early 90s, I forget.
It is a satirical comedy about a television news studio with a wildly diverse set of characters, creating mayhem with themselves and the (then) current news scene.
Some of it inevitably was dated, but I still found myself chuckling at the many antics, while renewing my acquaintance with much loved characters.
Still worth viewing (but probably more so if you saw it the first time).- Was this review helpful to you?

Hilarious
By firefalcon (5 reviews) from Milton Keynes , 05 Dec 2005Drop the Dead Donkey - it's a funny spin on the news of the time, and thankfully they give a quick intro/reminder of the key news of the time so you understand some of the very much 'of the moment' jokes.
Most funny I think was the chrismas party where you get to see different sides to some of the characters, at least until the day after.
Definitely a 'how not to run a news (dis)organsiation'.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant comedy series
By Ian Roberts from Lewes, England , 03 Nov 2005Although it's set in a newsroom in the early Nineties the jokes haven't dated at all - a classic- Was this review helpful to you?
