    Wow !! Hit the jackpot on this one.

    Been watching a lot of tuition DVDs of late and they've mostly been really good and surprisingly different.

    The 5 stars I'm giving here are totally subjective. This particular DVD knocked me for six because I feel it's pitched right at me. It's almost as if Steve had watched me playing over a month or so, in various situations and then gone and analysed it all - to come back with this DVD. Everything the semi-pro drummer needs to know to step on up to pro-level.

    its ok

    There seems to be a trend for celebrity teachers to pad out their DVDs with endless drumsolos.

    Steve Smith is a bit prone to this and I found myself hitting the fast forward button a couple of times.

    This has got some good stuff on it although Steve does prattle on a bit at times. He also has a disconcerting habit of sticking his drumsticks down the back of his trousers!!

    Finally why do all these tutors use the standard grip!!!

    Good in parts, ideal for DVD frustrating on video I would imagine
