There won't be many takers over the age of six for this animated adventure that launched Disney's Movietoons series. Something akin to Raiders of the Lost Duck, the film sends Scrooge McDuck and the ever-troublesome Huey, Dewey and Louie in search of a genie's lamp before it falls into the evil clutches of Merlock. Alan Young (who once chatted to Mr Ed, the talking horse) voices Uncle Scrooge, while Christopher Lloyd brings some menace to the villain. It all feels a touch rough-and-ready, but younger children may enjoy it.
this film is like the original version of disney's aladdin. the story line is basicaly the same, except that it is all about those cute ducks. been searching for this film for ages and finally found it here. remembered it being fantastic when i was a kid, and didn't disapoint. worth a watch.
I rented this film to bring back long forgotten fond memories - and it did!! The film is about Scrooge (same character in cartoon and movie form) and his three nephews and niece...the difference here is they are ducks. The film is very well animated, colourful and enjoyable for young children, as well as nostalgic adults! Scrooge and his family go on an expedition to track down a long lost treasure which of course goes horribly wrong....
