Clever, tense and exciting. Great stuff.By a customer from Abingdon, Oxon , 12 Aug 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Spielbergs first film is something different and really exciting.
It follows a salesman who ends up in a road rage incident with the driver of a huge truck. He thinks nothing of it but the rest of the film follows him being chased by the truck driver who now wants to kill him!
There is very little dialogue (the man is travelling alone so has nobody to talk to) and you never see the truck driver. Its really scary as you can see the man thinking 'why is he doing this to me' and you spend most of the film thinking the same. The truck driver must be a real nutter, but as you never see him it really adds to the tension and suspense.
If you fancy something a bit different then give it a go. Its a bit like Jaws in that what you dont see is more scary than what you do. Excellent.

Absolutely abysmalBy SteveC24 (25 reviews) from West Kent , 23 Apr 2008From the synopsis, I have to admit to not thinking this sounded like a brilliant film, but assumed it would be OK as it was a Spielberg film.
My word, I have never been so wrong - it was, without doubt, one of the worst films I have ever watched.
The character (yes, that's right, there was basically only one!) was laughable, and the plot was dragged out for the first hour of the film, only becoming what could be classed as vaguely exciting in about the last 20 minutes.
A good film for a laugh, but otherwise, I wouldn't waste an hour and a half of my life again - no way on Earth.
