Ambitious but fun
By JWhitfield (28 reviews) from South west, England , 19 Dec 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This game followed the familier pattern of DW games, and wouldn't be popular among people who dislike Dynasty Warriors or Gundam. Having played Warriors Orochi, the combat is little different, merely customised to relate to Gundams rather than legendary warriors. Hence repairs are not automatic, and defending until you can pick up powerups and armour can often be necessary.
I rented this title and couldn't get enough so I decided to buy, it's not a short game if you want to complete it but some seem to be unimpressed even to rent, perhaps they were expecting something that the game cannot give.
My only dissapointment is that they tried to put too much into the game and it is spread thin, popular characters are missing and the latest series aren't included. I certainly hope there will be another with the rest in mind but for some reason popular opinion on the game seems unreasonably negative.- Was this review helpful to you?

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam
By Calcifur (8 reviews) from Camborne , 03 Feb 2010I was excited when i heard dynasty warriors was doing this style of gaming but i must admit it was a bit annoying. The game itself was good, the characters, voice acting, layout was similar to the dynasty warriors game except for small problem which because a huge annoyance to myself and my partner.
In the dynasty warrior games we are use to having split screen when doing two player which is actually really easy to manoever. Those screens however are top to bottom whereas with this game there left to right and that was very confusing and annoying. In the end i did not want to play it any longer due to that aspect. It was the whole camera angle as well, even with setting it up the way i wanted it again it just did not seem to work.
it was sad because it is a good game true to the series. if you can get use to the camera angle or will be playing it solo and not using the split screen you will like it. Unfortunately for me i have fun when playing with another person and solo just becomes a bit stale.
other wise a good game xD- Was this review helpful to you?

Gundam is amazing
By a customer from scunthorpe , 03 Mar 2009I never liked the gundam universe as i believed it to be an inferior Transformers but after playing this game i love it, i am now a Gundam fanatic doing lots of research on the show and have requested all the titles available on Tesco rental. Yes this game can be a bit repetative but it has multiple paths to victory and can be fun mixing it up to annoy your comrades. I cannot recommend enough for a game you can just sit down and play. My Finger is Burning RED!! (only fans would understand) play to find out.- Was this review helpful to you?

I like it
By ash2ka (26 reviews) from Sheffield , 15 Mar 2008I love Dynasty Warriors but anyone who doesn't should probably avoid this game, unless they are a massive gundam fans... or just REALLY like robots. For me the prospect of mixing Dynasty Warriors with giant robots is just a GREAT prospect. Add this to the new features of this game, like the ability to charge forward using thrusters and (on some gundam models) transform into a plane to move around the map more quickly and you have (in my opinion anyway) a really good game.
I will say a few bad things about this game though... the scenery is pretty un-inspiring for quite alot of the levels and some of the gundams models are just a different colour with EXACTLY the same move sets, making unlocking them slightly disappointing, but if you are a fan of DW or like any kind of hack and slash game you will probably enjoy this one- Was this review helpful to you?
