A welcome return for Craig Cash and various other bit-part members of the Royle Family fraternity, Early Doors is subtle and beautiful in its humour. The mixture of characters is just about perfect - who hasn't been into a pub and seen the old bloke nursing his pint, the group of girls out on the razz and the two single but not quite single lads always keeping an eye out for the ladies? Ably led by landlord Ken (brilliantly played by John Henshaw), the cast go about their daily lives through the medium of beer. Early Doors is low-key yet brilliant and for me was every bit as enjoyable as the equally excellent Royle Family.
