kagemusha is a Genius

I am a big fan of Akira Kurosawa's and have been ever since I can remember so for me to get the chance to see these earlier works is a real treat. In first film, Sanshuro Sugata, you can see a master director in the making however in the second film, Sanshuro Sugata 2 you defensibly feel the directors displeasure at having to make a propaganda film. Despite this however these two films are well worth the watch as are all of Kurosawa's films from The Bad Sleep Well to 1980's kagemusha and beyond.- Was this review helpful to you?
