Excellently Presented and Tutored - this is Step One in the series
By a customer from Lanarkshire, Scotland , 11 Dec 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Easy Steps to Guitar Fingerpicking - Step One - Demystifying Alternate Thumb Style......you will see Easy Steps to Guitar Fingerpicking - Steps 2 & 3 (to be sent in sequence) listed for rental, it is important if you're a novice/beginner student to ensure that you get this DVD before the others......on the understanding that you have not already mastered the system of alternative thumb picking. I felt that there was lot's more chat in the early stages of this DVD than others I've reviewed in the series. Upon reflection there needs to be and the same would happen when you went to a personal tutor...here you get what feels like personal tuition, which you can repeat over and over again, from a very talented source on a subject which can take you some time to learn to a stage of unconscious competence.......Stefan Grossman refers to you having 'got' this technique should you be able to continue having just been decapitated - I take this as a point of discussion and NOT one to be verify.......it is the foundation for this style of play and it is presented, demonstarated and tutored in a very acceptable way by Happy Traum ........ you won't regret renting this one- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)Easy Steps To Guitar Fingerpicking
By Crewood (37 reviews) from Chesterfield , 27 Feb 2008An excellent DVD rendered completely useless by the lack of TABS.
You never get any TAB booklets sent out with a rental DVD.
What a waste of time.- Was this review helpful to you?

Thumbs up!
By a customer from Barnoldswick, England , 01 May 2007As per his usual style, Happy explains this technique simply and effectively. You don't get information overload and you do get examples so that you can apply your new skills to your own repertoire. Experienced players would possibly find it too simple, but even a mid-range player who hasn't explored alternative thumb picking yet will come away with a useful new technique.- Was this review helpful to you?
