    [Highly rated reviewer]

If an Oscar is given to the most boring film this would have no competition.

It is the real life adventure of Liz Gilbert adapted to make Jukia Roberts the centre of the universe. Forget the actress that thrilled us in Erin Brokovitch - forget the face that entranced us in Pretty Woman - this is Hollywood creating a shrine to faded talent.

Initially there was some hope that the film might elevate to something resembling entertainment but as it progressed from New York to Rome and onto Delhi it became more and more dire.

A few minutes of Bali and my wife gave me that knowing look and I was happy to walk out of the cinema with her.

Ryan Murphy should hold his head in shame. The stereotyped characters - the phony 'chance' encounters. What a total load of rubbish.

I managed to watch 20 minutes without throwing things at my TV set and then fast forwarded to watch Javier Bardem who is always so fine. Couldn't care less about this spoiled American woman, her quest was a succession of saccharined unstomachable cliches

A bit 'Travel porn' but with an important message about finding yourself. Watched it 5 times, would watch it again.

I liked it,especially when she was on her travels. But I do admit there are some boring parts,I also found it a long film. I had to have a break in between it.

I didn't enjoy this one at all. I watched this quite some time ago, and the pain of constant expectation followed by disappointment still haunts me. Put this on the very bottom of your to watch list or don't watch it at all.

Had high hopes for this movie as I really enjoyed the book, but I was sorely disappointed. Really boring, and the characters felt soulless and forced. Boo.
